Growing up in a musical household —my parents, aunts, cousins, and brother are all musicians—music was the language of our home. From the outset, music was two things:
a source of joy and community
a form of communication that transcends age and experience
Music has given me a way to express my innermost emotions and share in something deeply human with others. That same sense of wonder is what I hope to pass on to my students.
In my work with young musicians, I have seen how naturally the emotional experience of music arises—how instinctively students connect to sound, movement, and expression. It is remarkable to me how intrinsic this kind of communication is to human nature, especially in children. Whether teaching in a classroom, coaching young chamber ensembles, or engaging audiences in interactive performances, my goal is always the same: to create an environment where students feel excited and empowered to explore, and to share the profound musical joy that has shaped my own life.
